Over 35% of North Carolina’s population identifies as military, veteran, spouse, parent, or dependent of someone serving in the military. Charlotte not only leads the state financially it is also leading the state in veteran service delivery. Selected as the 2nd AmericaServes market ever, NCServes – Metrolina is the first of four coordinated networks in a planned state­wide initiative. Led by a fantastic team at Veterans Bridge Home (VBH), the Coordination Center for NCServes-­Metrolina brings together over 70 service providers across 10 counties, including Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Catawba, Iredell, Rowan, Cabarrus, Union, York, and Cleveland. Charlotte is quickly becoming a national model for public/­private partnership and by welcoming thousands of Veterans to this region every year is leading the Governor’s charge of making North Carolina the Most Veteran friendly state in the country.” The mission and values of VBH and the entire Charlotte network align with AmericaServes and together we are changing the way our service members, veterans, and their families are receiving services and care.
